HANG TIME
I created a device to connect your phone to hanging outlets. In combination with this, I designed a mobile app tailored to an Ohio State designers clock needs.

Final Model Process
I created two models, one that was functional (charging + magsafe) and other that would be an ideal appearance model. The functional model used off the shelf parts along with a 3D printed shell designed in Solidworks.

Final Functional Model
The final model works to hang a phone as well as charge it.

Final Appearance Model
This is an appearance model of how the device could ideally work. All of the electronic components could be combined to make the body much smaller than the functional model. I added magnets to the back so I could still attach it to my phone.

Reflection
This project allowed me to gain skills in many areas. It was my first use of Figma, allowing me to quickly make a prototype app for my model. I am proud of the presentation of my concept as both a functional and appearance model. This allowed me to gain skills working around existing parts to make a model for users to interact with. This product is great for designers, not just to keep time but also for general use of phones in the workplace. Hanging the phone removes it from the workspace, utilizing an existing outlet.
